My name is Throne. Obviously not my real name, my mom is Christian but not that Christian. I'm a Cuban high school student who's been living in Florida for most of my life. I'm fed up with censorship of books in my state (and media in the general world) and dedicated my username to the man I think is responsible for most of this. I'm new to HTML so this blog will get better the less I suck. I would reveal more about myself but I would like to be able to easily separate myself from this online personae so I'll just let whoever reads this speculate.
If you didn't know about the censorship issue in my state the simplification is that a short man who wears heels to cope with his lack of height hates queer people, black people, and other minorities so much he decided students can't read about their struggles because he believes it's innappropriate
or will turn them queer.
Of course, anybody with a sound mind knows this is ridiculous because CoD and GTA V didn't turn people into murderers in the 2000s unless they were already off their rockers. I made this blog not just to raise awareness and voice my feelings but also because my english teacher, who we'll call Mr. Mooyodeler, was proud of my for my first editorial about this being featured in our local news. So thank you, Mr. M, for supporting me.
My stance on censorship is that, even if it's something dark and horrible with little substance
it has a right to exist. Fiction is fiction, even if it's badly written, dark, or whatever it's not real and if Desantis is butthurt over a queer character he can put the book down. Hell, even if it's not fiction and it's some idiot writing their ideology down they have the right to do that. Even if they're a horrible person with horrible beliefs we must not censor the human experience including its ugly bits. We are not all good people, some worse than others, and we have to recognize this.
